Delivery information

What are the alternatives for delivering an order to my part of the world? What do they cost and how long do they take?

We recommend the following shipment alternatives:

WITHIN South Africa ONLY:

MiOffice or Postnet : The service in Howick is no longer a Postnet, but MiOffice.  This will cost R100.00.   Howick MiOffice (033-330 8885) will deliver your parcel counter-to-door and we therefore require your physical address and cell no for this service.  (Please note :  There must be someone at the address you give, to receive your parcel). Delivery takes 2-4 working days.  If you live where there are none of these services available, we will use the Post Office.

RETURNING PARCELS : If returning parcels for an exchange, repair or resole, please return from a Postnet Branch to Postnet Victoria Road, Pietermaritzburg for Howick MiOffice, Attention:  Groundcover (033-330 6092).

SA Post Office :  This will cost R100.00. We will use the Post Office if you do not have a MiOffice or Postnet branch.  Your POSTAL ADDRESS is required, as they don’t send out notifications to residential addresses anymore. A tracking no will be emailed or smsd to you and this does take approximately 5 to 10 working days.

Or via COURIERInsured surface courier with Timefreight delivered to your PHYSICAL ADDRESS which takes between 24-48 hours.  If you are wanting this service, please e-mail us on for a cost quotation before paying for your order.

OUTSIDE(INTERNATIONAL) South Africa:Small to medium-sized orders:
Insured parcel post with tracking facility sent via the South African Post Office. PLEASE EMAIL US FOR A COST QUOTATION ON INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE/SHIPPING BEFORE YOU PAY FOR YOUR ORDER, AS THIS IS WORKED OUT ON THE WEIGHT AND VOLUME OF THE PARCEL.  Please also specify what you are wanting to order as this will help us get a quote for the products you are wanting. Once we have sent through a quote with costs for Airmail and you have confirmed, we will send through a “Paybill” (a secure payment link) with the total cost of your order, including postage, for payment.

  • Airmail – which takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks

Payment options

How can I order products from Groundcover?

The Groundcover “shopping cart” integrated with our catalogue allows you to complete and submit an order online — your order is forwarded to us in the form of an e-mail, and an e-mail is sent to you confirming the details of your order. For help on how to use the shopping cart, see the last section on this page.


If you prefer, you can always post or fax your order, together with your payment confirmation (EFT). Click here for an order form that you can print and complete at your leisure. Postage for 2015 is R100.00 with either MiOffice / Postnet or the SA Post Office.


Should you have a special need or prefer to deal with us directly, you are most welcome to contact us, by phone (033-3306092), fax (086-676 7162) or e-mail (, with your order or enquiry.

Orders are usually ready to post within 2-4 working days from order date if we have all your items in stock. If we have to manufacture any items this could take 2-3 weeks, and we will notify you of the status of your order.

Is it safe to pay by credit card over the Internet?

Our site uses a SECURE shopping cart system that encrypts credit card details.

When we receive your order by e-mail, it does not include your card details. We can only access this information using a unique password within a Secure Payments Download area.

What modes of payment can I use for my order?

Within South Africa:

  • Credit card — Visa and MasterCard. We do not accept American Express or Diners Card. You can use our SECURE shopping cart system to effect your payment; or, if you prefer, you can phone, fax or e-mail us your card number, expiry date and cvc (last 3 digits of the number at back).
  • Bank transfer, direct deposit or internet payment — You will receive our banking details with your order confirmation. To save time, in any of these instances please fax or e-mail us a copy of your payment slip.
  • Please use the following banking details for direct deposits and transfers:

Outside South Africa:

Step-by-step instructions

Using the Groundcover Shopping Cart

Preparing your order

Select the size and colour options for your desired products from the respective drop-down menus. PLEASE NOTE: Our products may vary in colours, tones and shades with the batches of materials sourced and we do try to keep our images on the website updated, but our stocks may at times differ.

Click on “Add to Order”. This will take you to the Groundcover “Shopping Cart”, which will show the product ordered and the cost of that product.

To remove an item from your shopping cart, change the quantity to “0” (zero)and click the “Recalculate” button.

To order additional items, click the “Continue Shopping” button. This will take you back to the page you were on, where you can repeat the above steps or navigate to other catalogue pages.

To check your order at any time, click the link provided at the top of every catalogue page.

When you have completed your ordering, select a “shipping” or delivery option from the Shopping Cart’s drop-down menu. (Where the delivery address is outside South Africa, it will be necessary to contact us to request a price, as postage costs vary considerably with the weight and destination.)

Once you’ve selected the shipping option, click on “Recalculate” and the shipping cost will be added.

Then click on “Go To Payments”, where you enter your Billing and Delivery info.

Payment methods

You will be shown the Billing and Delivery info you entered (please check that the address is correct) and then given a choice of payment options, viz:

  • Credit card
  • Direct deposit
  • Electronic transfer

Select a payment method.

If you choose “credit card”, you’ll need to add your card details. Your card is not charged automatically: the card details are stored on a SECURE SERVER (which can only be accessed by a person who knows the password), and we use the secure Paygate merchant account when your order is completed and ready to be shipped or collected.

If you select “direct deposit” or “electronic transfer”, you’ll go straight to an Order Confirmation page that includes banking details for effecting payment by the method chosen. You can print this page if you need the banking details. If paying by direct deposit or electronic transfer, please email or fax us a copy of your payment confirmation.

You will receive an email confirmation that your order has been successfully submitted. A copy of your order (excluding any card details in the case of credit card payments) will simultaneously be emailed to us.
